I absolutely love our new floors. Dorrance was great to work with. They solved a lot of issues we had tying in our old floor with our new floor and transitions and around closets and it all looks seamless now. Love that they create a large sample of 4 stain colors on the actual floor to choose from. They laid the hardwood in the master bedroom and into the closets and they did an amazing job. The floors turned out amazing.

I worked with Dorrance on installing new hardwood on 2/3rds of my main level and blending the new floors into existing. From start to finish, this has been an excellent company and team to work with.

Key points: (1) a small, local company that does all their work in-house (no sub-contractors), including demo; (2) gave a reasonable quote (in my opinion); (3) provided timeline and dates, gave timeframes for when we could use the area and not (we were living in house for most of this renovation), very easy to communicate with; (4) came back to finish shoe molding after painters came through (and painted trim); (5) overall went above and beyond to solve some tricky flooring problems that hadn't been repaired right in past.

This team will be my go-to if/when we have any work to be done on our hardwoods in the future. I definitely recommend them.

We have hired Dorrance for two projects, one in our previous home and one in our current home. This is truly a family business that takes great pride in their work. The current job was replacing carpeting in half our main floor with hardwood and matching to the extent possible the existing hardwood. Our new floor looks amazing. Mr Dorrance was very up front that the new floor and old floor (which are painted, who does that?) would not match, but now I want to get the rest of the downstairs flooring to match the new flooring because the new floor looks so spectacular. The work crews were on time, very friendly, and they obviously knew what to do and how best to do it. If you want a floor job that is done right and beautiful, go with Dorrance.

They were even able to work out a few water damage stains that we assumed would have to remain. We recently had our hardwood floors extended and refinished by The Dorrance Company, a local business here in Severna Park. We had no previous experience with this company, but the reviews were quite good, so we contacted them for an estimate. One of the owners, Freddie, spent over an hour with us reviewing the work, options, materials, pros and cons of different coatings, etc. We found him to be very knowledgeable, patient and conversant. Their bid was quite reasonable, so we contracted with them. The team was punctual, highly skilled, polite and friendly. They cut no corners and the workmanship was flawless. The end result is simply beautiful. The transition from the original hardwood to the new is seamless. We could not be more pleased…actually, ecstatic. Also, there was absolutely no dust. Cabinets, drapes, light fixtures, etc. were covered, but the real key is the machinery they use that captures everything and produces an even surface. Professional quality work in every way!! Dorrance replaced a large amount of flooring on my first floor. They removed a lot of tile and installed hardwood which they blended into some existing hardwood. You can not find any indication that the flooring was laid at two different times. Also installed stairs going upstairs and they are beautiful. These workers were very respectful, were very careful about protecting my property and cleaned up after they were done. So refreshing to work with people who show up, do high quality work at a fair price! HIGHLY recommend.
